For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6

“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life” (John 3:14). “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18). Who is this “Son of God,” “Son of Man,” “Eternal Father,” “Prince of Peace,” “Savior,” “Immanuel,” “Redeemer,” “Word,” “Messiah,” and “Christ”? Scripture says that we must “believe in Him” (Rom. 10:14; 1 Tim. 1:16; 1 Pet. 1:8; John 8:30; 9:35-37; Acts 19:4) to be forgiven of our sins and stand righteous (blameless, morally pure, declared “NOT GUILTY” of sin) before God on the great Day of Judgment (Acts 17:31, 2 Thess. 1:5-12) and saved to “eternal life” (Matt. 19:29; 25:46; John 3:15-16; 6:40, etc.). The Bible tells us that this “Son of God” is Jesus Christ – “Jesus of Nazareth” (Mark 1:24; John 1:45; Acts 10:38). Of course, there are many opinions, myths, and man-made distortions about who Jesus was (and still is, for He lives!), but this booklet gives the truth as stated in Scripture. “Jesus of Nazareth,” “The Christ of God” (Luke 9:20; 23:35), is a man who lived approximately 2000 years ago. Christ is not His last name; it is a title meaning “anointed one,” “anointed by God” (Acts 10:38), or “the Messiah” (Dan. 9:26; Matt 1:1, 16; John 1:41). Jesus is the transliteration of the Greek name Joshua (Jehoshua, Yeshua) in English. Jesus was born of a virgin in Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth. He is our hope for eternal salvation – our “Rock and our Redeemer” (Psa. 19:14; 78:35), “The First and the Last” (Rev. 1:17; 2:8; 22:13), “The Alpha and the Omega” (Rev. 1:8; 21:6; 22:13), “the Son of God” (Matt. 26:63, Luke 1:35), “The Son of Man” (Matt. 8:20; 9:6; 17:22, etc.) and God Himself in the flesh (John 1:14).
